What real users say

I have used AOMEI Backupper Professional on three different family PCs across five years and it has saved me countless times when a drive failed or I needed to migrate to a new SSD. The interface is straightforward, scheduled image backups run silently in the background, and recovery from a bootable USB has worked first-time every time I have needed it. The lifetime upgrade policy is the cherry on top.

AOMEI Partition Assistant Professional is what I reach for whenever I need to migrate Windows to a new SSD or resize a system partition without doing a clean install. It is genuinely easier than the equivalent built-in tools, and the OS migration wizard has worked flawlessly on every laptop I have used it on. Wish there were native macOS support but on Windows it is excellent.

For my IT consulting work I rely on AOMEI Backupper for client image backups and AOMEI Cyber Backup for one of my small business clients with five workstations and a Hyper-V host. The centralized console is much easier to manage than juggling per-machine licenses. Pricing is fair, support is responsive, and the 90-day money-back guarantee gave me confidence to try the Workstation tier.

AOMEI Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions buyers ask before installing AOMEI software in 2026.
Is AOMEI safe to use?+
Yes. AOMEI is a long-established Windows software company (founded 2009) with over 50 million users worldwide. Its installers are signed, the software is regularly tested by independent reviewers, and the company offers a 90-day money-back guarantee on paid editions. Like any disk tool, always have an external backup before doing destructive operations like cloning or partition resizing.
Does AOMEI work on Mac or Linux?+
No. AOMEI’s flagship Backupper and Partition Assistant products are Windows-only. AOMEI does offer iOS-focused tools (FoneTool, MBackupper) for backing up iPhone and iPad data from a Windows PC, but there are no native macOS or Linux applications.
Is the free version of AOMEI Backupper enough for home use?+
For most home users, yes. AOMEI Backupper Standard covers system, disk, partition, and file backup, scheduled jobs, basic clone, and bootable rescue media at no cost. Upgrade to Professional only if you need dynamic disk backup, dissimilar hardware restore, real-time file sync, or commercial use rights.
Can AOMEI clone a hard drive to a smaller SSD?+
Yes. AOMEI Partition Assistant Professional and AOMEI Backupper Professional both support cloning a larger drive to a smaller SSD, as long as the used data on the source fits in the destination. The included OS Migration wizard handles partition resizing automatically.
Does AOMEI offer lifetime upgrades?+
Yes. Most AOMEI Professional and Workstation editions include lifetime free upgrades — you pay once and get all future versions free. This is one of AOMEI’s biggest value propositions compared to subscription-only competitors like Acronis.
